Prior to 1997, no specialized public school elementary level services, based on the principles of applied behavior analysis, were available for our children with autism.
In September 1997, The AJ Foundation initiated the opening of The Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22’s first public school program exclusively using instruction based on ABA for elementary aged students with autism.
In March 1998, The AJ Foundation assisted the Council Rock School District in pioneering its first public school program using instructional techniques derived from ABA for elementary aged students with autism.
In September 2000, the AJ Foundation opened a licensed private school for children with autism between the ages of 6 through 14 years old, called The Comprehensive Learning Center (CLC).
On August 18, 2000, CLC received its license to operate as a private academic school from the Department of Education to provide services to children with autism between the ages of 6 through 14 years old.
On September 5, 2000, CLC opened its doors on to its first three students in a newly renovated modular classroom located on the property of St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church and School in Holland, Pennsylvania.
In April 2002, CLC moved into a new building located on Louis Drive in Warminster.
In November 2003, CLC moved to its current site in Southampton to accommodate its growing number of students.
In January 2004, CLC opened its preschool program to provide educational services to children with autism between the ages of 3 through 5 years old.
In August 2004, CLC opened its secondary program to provide educational services to individuals with autism between the ages of 15 through 21 years old.
